Fun in the fresh air

Today we took some time out to revisit a lovely park in Wood Green. We hadn’t been back for months but today the sun shone (briefly) and we wanted some fresh air.

Big Brother had a great time and found some new friends. This is a lovely park and near the station so he was happy listening to the trains come and go. Simple pleasures!

Secret project

Over the last few evenings when Big Brother has been in bed, we’ve been working on a secret project. A birthday card!

He turns 2 next month and as he’s a huge cBeebies fan, thought it would be fun to try and get a birthday card shown on cBeebies for him. He loves the bits where they read out cards, he always walks right up to the tv and points out his favourite characters on each card!

For his very special birthday card we’ve stuck a bit photograph of Big Brother along with the alphablocks, his favourite Chuggington trainees and some of the characters from In The Night Garden.

It’s already in the post so fingers crossed they show it!

Naked shopping

Poor Little Sis finished our shopping trip in just her nappy and a cashmere blanket due to a particularly nuclear poo. Can’t wait to show her this when she’s 18.

Disney Club Penguin magazine

Disney’s Club Penguin is the largest virtual world for kids, with over 150 million users worldwide, and has just launched its first official magazine – Disney Club Penguin Magazine. Big Brother is well on his way to becoming a geek (like his daddy!) but is a little too young for Club Penguin. We were sent a copy of the magazine to whet our appetite.

Disney Club Penguin Magazine hit news stands across the UK and Ireland, on Thursday 9th February, giving kids another way to engage with Club Penguin. The four-weekly magazine features comic stories, fact files, puzzles and activities themed on popular in-world games and events. As with all Club Penguin toys, books, videogames and apps, the magazine connects to the virtual world through secret codes that allow kids to earn coins and unlock exclusive items offering a truly integrated entertainment experience.

The magazine is in a similar style to the other magazine that we already buy – bright and colourful with lots of engaging activities. We enjoyed looking through it together and thought the price was very reasonable for the content.

Disney Club Penguin Magazine, published by Panini UK, is launching exclusively in the UK and Ireland. Each issue will include two secret codes that unlock exclusive items online for use in-world and will be available in all major retail outlets priced at £2.99. The magazine is available to buy in Morrisons and WH Smiths.

Old school entertainment

We’ve been enjoying a couple of days on the Isle of Wight. Ryde seafront is full of amusement arcades – perfect old school entertainment on a wet and windy day. Big Brother wasn’t very impressed with the old-style games but mummy and daddy could have spent all their pocket money (if they had any)!

Little Sis rocking the skinny jeans look. She’s definitely outgrown her 0-3 clothes so time to ditch the babygros and acquire a new wardrobe.
