Please let me come to Brit Mums Live!

You may know that Brit Mums Live is happening in a couple of weeks. I’d love to go but don’t have a ticket. However, the lovely people at Brit Mums have a couple of tickets up for grabs. To get my hands on one I just have to tell you why I’d like to go to Brit Mums Live. So here goes…

I’ve been blogging on and off since 2005 and love social media but still have lots to learn

I’d love to see New Mum Online again in the flesh without watching our boys fight over toy trains. In fact I’d love to have a conversation with another adult and be able to give them my full concentration

I’m a poor stay at home mum and can’t justify the price of a ticket

I’d love some time off from my children. Much as I love then I’ve spent every day with them since they were born and I deserve a day pass

I would love to sit down and selfishly drink a cup of tea before it goes cold

I would also love the chance to wear nice clothes (snot and milk free), brush my hair and go out in public without carrying nappies, wipes, bottles and snacks

Today we went shopping for some Jubilee treasures. There were slim pickings but we all liked these!

We were alerted to the fact that the renowned artist known as Banksy had been in the neighbourhood by nanny. After daddy finished work we all went to take a look at the salubrious street corner Banksy had chosen for his latest work of art (the corner of the High Road and Poundland, if you are interested).

There was quite a crowd of people looking and taking pictures. I especially loved the lady who came up to me and asked what everyone was looking at!

Day out in London

We thought we would venture into town. Big Brother loves getting the tube into Kings Cross and seeing the trains, and I thought we could pop along to see Writing Britain: Wastelands to Wonderlands at the British Library. We managed to do the whole round trip whilst Little Sis slept!

The toddler was very well behaved whilst we were in the British Library. The exhibition was fantastic and I have a mental list of books I would like to read – but know I will never have time for.

New words

The little man is picking up new words really quickly. At the moment he wants to learn all the different parts of Thomas the Tank Engine which is proving a bit difficult. We are also learning colours which I can just about cope with. One of our conversations today went as follows:

Can you get me a clean muslin for your sister?
Pink or yellow?
Pink please. Can you put this one in the washing basket?
Yes!

It’s good that we can have a little conversation now. I understand 90% of what he is trying to say – just need to work on the 10%!

Messy play

One of us loves the garden more than anyone else. He’s happy to go outside in any weather and loves his sandpit, water table and toy car. Unfortunately he likes to play with them simultaneously which means sand ends up in the water table, water ends up in the sandpit and the car is in constant need of wash. Luckily the little man is getting quite handy with a cloth and enjoys washing his car with the aid of a a bucket of water.

Thank goodness for crocs!

Harefield

We moved further afield to do some house-hunting today. We stopped off at Harefield so Big Brother could test the local playground – which he gave 10 out of 10.

He wore the kids out, geocaching and having a picnic on Hampstead Heath.
